The Palouse Choral Society is opening their 25th anniversary season with two showings of “Listen to the Silence” tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Simpson United Methodist Church in Pullman.
“Listen to the Silence” centers around the absences of sound and the idea that seeking out calm spaces is how we heal and recharge from the chaos around us.
The repertoire will include the world premiere of “Bugtong-Bugtong,” by Ian Gabriel Corpuz, the winner of the third annual composition contest.
There will also be a performance of the African Lullaby, “Thula Baba,” Simon and Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence”, and Baroque and Classical works by Henry Purcell and William Billings.
The PCS Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Children’s Choir will be the three ensembles performing.
The Simpson United Methodist Church is located at 325 Northeast Maple Street in Pullman.
General Admission tickets are $20, student tickets are $8, and children 8-12 get in for free.
The concert is not programmed for children under the age of 8.
