The Pullman Police Department will continue its educational approach toward the governor’s new mandate that requires people to wear a mask when in public.
Democrat Washington Governor Jay Inslee has issued a new rule requiring people to wear a mask when out in public starting Friday. Face coverings will be required for indoor public spaces and outdoor public spaces when people are unable to maintain social distance.
Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins says his officers will continue their educational approach to the new restriction and only issue a misdemeanor citation as a last resort. You can listen to Chief Jenkins comment by clicking on the audio file below.
The Pullman PD has not had to issue any misdemeanor citations for violations of the governor’s pandemic mandates.
